News Commentary:Life On Mars?

How amazing would it be to make first contact with a Martian. That would absolutely stun the world! On August 22 of this year a land rover by the name Curiosity made its first  successful drive on the planet Mars. I think that it would be great if we made contact with another form of life.
I read in this article that the "Curiosity" mission is led by Matt Haverly with NASA. This 2.5 billion dollar mission is mainly to find out if there is life or traces of life on Mars. Do you guys think that we are alone or do we have company in this vast and mysterious  universe?
